Attack of the Killer Apple

This is an actual Jonagold Apple purchased today at the Brookline Farmers’ Market. No steroids used, just good pruning, said the grower.

Jonagolds are great in pie, and from the look of this one, you’d only need to peel 4 or 5 of them to fill your crust.

    Last night I made the apple crisp and the apple brownies for a neighborhood party. Served warm with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce – delicious!

    Jonagold is big, but in addition to that I’ve noticed many varieties coming in even larger than usual this year.
